The Laekenois is one of the four varieties of Belgian Shepherd.  They are basically the same as the other three except their coat is wiry.  There are very few Laekens in North America, so it took us several years to find a breeding that seemed to have the right combination of attributes for what we want to do with Epic. 

We finally found what we were looking for in Springwood Kennels. Brigitte and Bill share many of our interests, and have imported several excellent Laekens with working backgrounds.  They have bred two previous litters from the same parents, and they have produced beautiful healthy pups with excellent temperaments and tons of drive!
